Keep His Word Strong This School Year

In the next few weeks millions of children will journey into a new school year.  That reminds us that  parents are not the only ones who influence what our children perceive and think about life. We know the tension for believers because we live and go to school and work in a culture that does not necessarily believe in Jesus, in fact Jesus said that the world hates him.

God gives us a huge comfort in the truth that when he gave us faith, he placed us in his kingdom:

Give joyful thanks to the Father,

who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people

in the kingdom of light.

For he rescued us from the dominion of darkness

and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,

in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Colossians 1:12-14

Family conversation starter about living in God’s Kingdom.

  1. Why does God call life away from him darkness and life with Jesus light?

  2. What is it like to live with Jesus in a place where his forgiveness and love is ours?

  3. How does living in the Kingdom of God help you to not be so worried or afraid of what is going on in the world that you see with your eyes?

  4. What do you think heaven will be like some day when we live without pain or death

  5. Who are people that we know that don’t know Jesus yet that we can pray for?

  6. Talk to your Father about what it means to you that he sent Jesus to this earth to rescue you and give you life with him now and forever.
